Overview
The Data Union DAO is a Web3 incubator built around an "x-to-earn" SDK — originally developed by Streamr — that lets everyday users monetize their own data, from browsing habits to driving and location data. It functions as an ecosystem umbrella for startups, DAOs, and indie builders creating "Data Unions," already connecting six projects and half a million users, on the thesis that crypto adoption grows faster when people can earn from data they already generate.
We were tasked with building a whole new design ecosystem for this — from identity to website to marketing material — supporting a roadmap centered on grants, hackathons, and a staking mechanism that holds Data Unions accountable for ethical data handling.

A graphic identity and logomark inspired by our decentralized data infrastructure.
Taking cues from the brand's core output — a decentralized data network — much of the visual identity is built from a series of data blocks coming together to form distinct, ownable constructions. Like a data network itself, the logo is adaptive. This approach gives the team complete flexibility in communicating often technical, detailed information across different digital platforms.
The new brand also introduces Karelina, a post-contemporary sans serif with a subtle mechanistic flavour. Its technical character set stays legible at small sizes while remaining expressive at larger scale, helping the brand stand out.

A true sum of its parts, the symbol represents the qualities that define the brand: decentralized, fair, and scale.
