Overview
Hammashelppi is a digital ecosystem for remote dental care, designed for Suu & Hammas dental clinic. Built in response to surging demand for remote consultations during COVID-19, the project spanned three touchpoints — a customer mobile app, a web panel for dentists, and a public marketing site — all working together as one connected service. We designed the visual and user interface across all three, keeping simplicity and accessibility at the core.
Behind its simple, everyday feel, Hammashelppi runs on a complex web of integrations — patient data and booking management, strong authentication, payment processing, and secure video calls — that extend the dental practice into a fully functional online option. The result benefits both sides: dentists can see more patients each day, and customers save time and money. The project's impact was recognized with an honorable mention at the Finland Grand One 2022 design competition.
"To break industry boundaries, bold experiments are needed. Hammashelppi lowers the threshold for contacting a dentist with a fresh remote service concept that serves especially the younger generation and those who suffer from fear of the dentist."

Keeping simplicity and accessibility at the core
The main focus of this project was to open up the dental care experience to more people, with ease, simplicity, and accessibility at its core. That felt like the most important driver behind every decision we made — maintaining Hammashelppi's visual integrity while presenting it in a more forward-thinking, inclusive way.
